The Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station is a public institute for research and production of seeds/seedlings. In order to fulfill the government’s polices for propagation and providing seeds/seedlings, to assist the development of seed/seedlings industry and to elevate the competitive capacity of seed/seedlings industry, the station is responsible for studying on related seed/seedling technologies.
Main functions:
- Breeding for new plant varieties with high quality and pest resistances to increase the quality of seed/seedlings.
- Studies on efficient propagation technologies and systems of seed/seedlings to increase the competitive capacity of seed/seedlings industry.
- Researches on biotechnologies and bio-safety tests to keep the leading advantages of seed/seedlings industry.
- Establishment and implementation of plant variety protection to protect the breeders’ rights.
- Providing seed/seedling’s novel information and technical services to fulfill the transference into industrialized results.
