The Promotion of Healthy Germplasm Conservation and Propagation Systems for Taro and Ginger

  1. This year, we supplied a total of 5,520 tissue culture-derived taro seedlings representing five clonal lines to the Da'an District Farmers' Association and the Dajia Agricultural Production Cooperative in Taichung City for the establishment of propagation fields to multiply healthy planting materials.
  2. We continued the clonal propagation and growth evaluation of the collected ginger clonal lines. This year, two new G0 Nanyang ginger clonal lines, three G0 Guangdong ginger clonal lines, and two G0 Zhujiang ginger clonal lines were established. Meanwhile, the eight G0 clonal lines established in 2026 were successfully advanced to the G2 generation, bringing the total number of ginger clonal lines under propagation to 15.
