Using organic soybean seeds as materials, samples were taken at different stages during the preparation process, including pre-harvest, post-harvest, post-drying, and post-selection, to explore the impact of different preparation stages on the degree of damage to soybean seeds and changes in seed quality . The electrical conductivity of each variety increased significantly after mechanical harvesting, indicating that mechanical harvesting will increase seed damage. Both Taichung No. 1 and Manzhou black beans have higher electrical conductivity after winnowing and sorting in Taiwan seed improvement and propagation station than those processed by farmers. This shows that farmers’ selection equipment can better eliminate damaged seeds or cause damage to seeds. The damage rate was lower; if Tainan No. 3 seeds were treated, there was no significant difference in seed damage.

In order to provide organic upland crop seeds in the future, TSIPS established valid Adzuki bean seed processing and storage procedure thereof by taking advantage of the separation of time and space in the transitional period before setting up organic seed processing line. Furthermore, TSIPS has obtained certifications for agricultural products processing, packaging and circulation of organic grain seeds this year.
