Export potential bulb flowers breeding and establishment the propagation system
We have collected 11 varieties of amaryllis and 10 varieties of calla lily for breeding this year. According to breeding goal, we have crossed 35 combination of amaryllis and 15 combination of calla lily. We also planted 900 progenies of amaryllis and 850 progenies of calla lily to cultivate flowering bulbs. By the tolerance of soft rot test for progenies’ leaf of calla lily, have found No76, 78 and 81 less infection of soft rot. Using the scales of spider lily as explants in MS medium with NAA, BA, and TDZ combination, tested the suitable propagation incubation medium. The results of N1T3 and N3B5 medium are better than others. Pedicel of amaryllis is as explants to propagate bulbs. The medium of 1/2MS with NAA 4ppm and BA 2ppm are better than others to induce more buds. The highest number of induced are 38 buds by NAA 2ppm and BA 2ppm combined medium. To summarize the results, we suggest that using 1/2MS for basal medium and add 2ppm NAA and 2-5ppm BA can induce more buds for amaryllis propagation.
