Study on in vitro micropropagation of traditional Chinese medicines and edible bamboo crops

  1. An efficient method of in vitro microprpagation was established using the shoot tip of Kaempferia galanga L., cultured on KGS1 medium can formed more than 2.7 shoots per explants. The elongated shoots were rooted on MS medium, than the rooted plantlets were transplanted to greenhouse for further growth. Results showed that plant survival rate of Kaempferia galanga L. was 100.0%.
  2. Using the nodal segments of Pueraria spp. as explant, cultured on PL2 medium can formed more than 2.6 shoots per explants. The elongated shoots were rooted on MS medium supplemented with 10.0% coconut water, and the rooting rate of Pueraria spp. was 80.0%, the rooted plantlets were transplanted to greenhouse for further growth. Results showed that plant survival rate of Pueraria spp. was 85.0%.
  3. We try to establish the disinfection method of Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro. The result showed that treating 1.0% sodium hypochlorite solution 15 minutes for first time disinfection, then treating 1.0% sodium hypochlorite solution 5 minutes for second time disinfection was an optimal method for disinfecting explant, the explant sterilization rate was 92.0%. And the 166-2 medium was the optimal for shoot induction.
