The project of breeding goals in 2024 for amaryllis, calla lily and caladium have completed including 150 amaryllis hybrid combinations, 34 calla lily cross combinations, and 85 caladium hybrid combinations. A total of 269 combinations have been crossed and sowing and embryo culture work. The amaryllis part of this project has held a 2025 amaryllis new strain observation meeting in Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station on April 17. The 88 new amaryllis strains that have been screened were selected, and a total of 14 awards were received, including 2nd place in both the Small Flower Group and the Commercial Cultivation Variety Group, serving as a reference for the promotion of amaryllis varieties. For the calla lily, 34 hybrid progeny groups with heat-tolerant parent lines have been planted, and leaf cell membrane thermostability tests have been conducted. Additionally, four potential progenies selected are 108021, 101012-1, 101003-1, and 107016. In caladium, the one potential strains screened out have applied for variety rights.
