Research on the Development and Application of Diverse Food and Agriculture Teaching Materials of Potato

This study aims to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of the newly developed “Potato Food and Agriculture Teaching Module.” A mixed-methods approach was employed, including a questionnaire survey of 66 participants who experienced the module and interviews with six teachers or farm owners who implemented it in practice. The results showed that both participants and promoters gave highly positive evaluations of the module, confirming its significant effectiveness and promotional value in educational applications. All respondents expressed their willingness to recommend and use the module in future teaching activities. Specifically, participants believed that the module effectively enriched teaching content, supported lesson preparation, and enhanced learning interest. Promoters also strongly agreed that it helped educators quickly grasp key teaching points, deepened learners’ understanding of potatoes, and increased educators’ motivation to engage in food and agriculture education. The findings of this study not only serve as a foundation for optimizing the existing potato food and agriculture teaching module but also provide valuable references for the future development of diversified educational materials and practical activities for other crops.

It is hoped that this module can be promoted more widely in schools, farms, and communities to advance public food and agriculture education, thereby fostering the development of a healthy and sustainable agri-food industry chain in Taiwan.
