Development and Application of Molecular Markers Associated with Anti-fusarium Wilt on Luffa and Drought-tolerance and Other Important Traits on Maize

This project consists of two research subprojects:

  1. Utilization and development of molecular markers associated with drought tolerance and other important traits in sweet corn:In this part, self-pollination was carried out on individual plants of the sweet corn hybrid composite population (S0 generation), and S1 seeds from each self-pollinated plant were harvested. Seedling raising and transplanting of these seeds were completed on July 8.
  2. Development of molecular markers for fusarium wilt resistance in Luffa:Based on genotypes, 31 F2:3 progenies from crosses between fusarium wilt-resistant and susceptible Luffa lines, along with other resistant and susceptible control varieties (‘Yinguang’, ‘Shuangyi’, etc.), were selected for inoculation tests. At least 12 plants per line were inoculated (anticipating the presence of one recessive resistance gene) to evaluate the accuracy of candidate molecular markers.
