(a) Breeding for disease resistant and superior quality of tomato

In the summer of this year, we were selecting ninety-fourth resistant diseases the lines of tomato. After they were planted in the susceptible nursery of the field, and ninety-fourth resistant disease plants were chosen to detect resistance genes, and thirty-five lines were selected after overall evaluation. Other twenty-seven resistance disease lines were backcross for superior quality strain, and ten varieties of germplasm to the collection and investigation, and conduct hybridized combination for breeding resistance to disease, weather tolerated and excellent quality varieties.

(b) Seed maintenance and breeding of  high-quality eggplant

Eggplants ,peppers and tomatoes are the three major solanaceous crops in the world. The main planting areas of Taiwan are Kaohsiung and Pingtung. The climate is high temperature and humidity. They are easy to affect eggplant fruit type, fruit color and fruit setting rate and so on.  They are also affected by diseases such as bacterial wilt. So the object is breeding disease-tolerant and high-quality eggplant varieties.  This year we evaluated and selected 20 eggplant lines of good sharp and quality and to continue purifying excellent lines. . We also finished evaluating 20 test cross and 10 Eggplant lines. backup storage in the next period.
