Study of inspection and monitoring system for precisely breeding crops

The main object of this study is to improve the testing and monitoring capacity of biotech crops in Taiwan. In the aspect of the establishment of the GMO event detection methods, we have set up the qualitative and quantitative detection methods of GM (genetically modified) maize event MON89034, and the detection limit of the qualitative analysis can reach to the concentration level of 0.05%. In the part of the optimization of the transgenic element detection method, the low detection coverage rates (33.33%) to the tested GM soybean events can be improved to reach 83.33% by the newly designed primers.
