Research on Genetic Resources and Plant New Variety DUS Testing Techniques Management and Application of the Economical and Special Crops in Taiwan
- Strengthening DUS Testing Techniques and Promotion and Arrangement in Accordance with Plant Variety Rights
The project is to collect and preserve 20 commercial varieties of rose and sedum and execute DUS tests and modified the test guideline and table of characteristics of rose initial characteristics’ table has been established and included 31 tems. TSIPS also collected 60 commercial varieties of phalaenopsis for establishing variety database. TSIPS have accepted 63 cases of phalaenopsis , 8 cases of oncidium, 11 cases of rose, 3 cases of dahlia, 2 cases of crown of thorns, 1 case of dumbcane, 5 case of bougainvillea, and 1 case of mudar to execute DUS tests for protecting the breeder’s rights this year and 52 phalaenopsis, 2 oncidium, 9 rose and 3 crown of thorns have been granted PBR. TSIPS also have finished a plant variety DUS testing technique training seminar on 22, October in 2022 and there are 60 DUS testing people attending seminar from DUS testing agency.
