The project of breeding goals in 2024 for amaryllis, calla lily and caladium have completed including 150 amaryllis hybrid combinations, 30 calla lily cross combinations, and 70 caladium hybrid combinations. A total of 250 combinations have been crossed and sowing and embryo culture work. In the screening of amaryllis hybrid offspring in the series breeding of potential for floral market value, the individual plants of HS1130001,HS1130002 and HS1130003 were screened for potential of floral market value based on the number of floret tropism, flower color type and othercharacteristics. In addition, this project uses the cell membrane thermostability(CMT) test of calla lily leaves to select commercial varieties with heat resistance potential such as 'Captain Tenders', 'Night Life', 'White Chocolate' and 'Gold Fever', etc. And based on the varieties as parents, the progenies plants with heat resistance potential are selected as 108017, 111073, 108006 and 108026-1,etc. In the future we will use CMT test to confirm its performance and investigate the performance of traits to evaluate the individual plants of the lines with heat resistance potential. In terms of screening of new caladium lines, two excellent lines were successfully obtained the variety rights in November 2024. According to the leaf shape and texture characteristic, they were named ‘TSS No. 3 - Brilliant Ruby’ and ‘TSS No. 4 – Sakura Snow’. In addition, 400 individual hybrid plants were planted in a net greenhouse for flowering bulbs cultivation and plant traits observation. Based on a comprehensive evaluation of traits such as leaf shape, leaf vein color, and leaf stripe color, potential single plants were screened out 3 strains, namely CHB940136- 04, CHB111006-02 and CHB940256-48.
