Agricultural ISO testing laboratory for seed and seedling quality check

In order to manage genetically modified organism (GMO) effectively, GMO testing technology has been established by the Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station (TSIPS) to monitor domestic crops to ensure that our crop production is not mixed with GMO. The TSIPS also first introduced into the ISO / IEC 17025 system in order to improve the testing technical quality and has been certified by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) since 2008.

Seeds are small in size, resistant to transport and high output value, so the international trade flow demand is frequent. Many countries have developed regulations of plant quarantine on the import of seed and seedlings to protect the ecological environment. Meanwhile, the requirement of seed quality has also become stricter for commercial trade. In addition to GMO testing, TSIPS has also got the TAF certificate on plant viruses and bacteria to satisfy the requirement of domestic seed industry, and is commissioned by the Bureaus of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine according to the "Export of plant seeds specific pathogens detection operations" to assist the domestic seed industries in obtaining a quarantine certificate.

The TAF Certification Laboratory of TSIPS has been engaged in testing business for nine years, charged testing service up to 951 samples send by the farmers and related agricultural industries. TSIPS has continued to maintain the testing capability and ensuring the precision and credibility of the testing results and increases the certification items for enhancing testing services of seed and seedling industry. Hopefully our seed and seedling can get good quality checks by the certification laboratory testing.
