The management of plant tissue culture has been further improved. The Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station(TSIPS) promote the advanced version of the plant tissue culture intelligent production management system.

TSIPS stated that Taiwan’s annual export value of orchids exceeds NT$5 billion. Behind the beautiful blooming flowers, more than 90% of these rely on the application of tissue culture technology. The advanced version of "Plant Tissue Culture Intelligent Production Management System" mainly uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to visualize and control the management stages of inventory management, process research and development, production history traceability management, and cultural environment monitoring. In this way, it will assist producers to increase management efficiency by 30% and makes the entire production process more standardized to achieve the goals of stabilizing product quality and increasing income.

TSIPS explain that there are more than one hundred domestic tissue culture companies, and more than 70% of those who specialize in orchid production. Due to too many varieties production, the high variability of the tissue culture production process, the high cost of information system development and the difficulty of personnel training, the recording and management of production data in the past relied on paper and simple computer data storage, not only records time-consuming but like a running account could not feedback to management..

TSIPS pointed out that the main features of the advanced version of "Plant Tissue Culture Intelligent Production Management System" include: 1. by cloud network connection, management system can be used on various computer storage devices or handheld devices to achieve fast information transmission and application environment, 2. users could integrate two-dimensional bar code technology for warehousing and shipment management, simplifying the operations of inventory management and data recording, 3. the environmental monitoring data could be interfaced with our system to strengthen the use of IoT monitoring tools. Users could ultimately achieve long-term monitoring and maintain stable production environmental conditions with this system, 4. there are lots of functions such as automated production scheduling, production capacity estimation, and complete operation history traceability records which imbedded in Plant Tissue Culture Intelligent Production Management System, 5. to provide intuitive production data analysis for users: The system directly outputs production data into statistical analysis results, providing short, medium and long-term losses, capacity and sales results in the production process, also feedback key production parameters.

TSIPS said this system will be provided to the tissue culture industry free of charge during the project period. It is hoped that through the guidance and promotion of the project, it will help improve the production management efficiency of domestic tissue culture industry and the use of resources. As well as, for consumers, the accuracy of the product, the stability of the supply and the quality of the product will be more guaranteed!
