Connection between ICT Technology and Plant Seedling Industry – the Intelligent Vegetable Seedling Production and Sales Management System
In 2017, Taiwan government has promoted the Intelligent Agriculture 4.0 Project to correspond with the advancement of ICT technology. In plant seedling industry, ICT technology and intellectualized control system were introduced for efficient production and systematic management. The seedlings production from vegetable nursery is usually bound up with the farmer orders. The work processes that included order management, seed preparation, production scheduling, culture management, goods delivery, and collection management, are complicated. Nowadays, managers of vegetable nurseries manually record the order and delivery information on the whiteboard and are difficult to accurately manage the plant seedlings production to supply the demands of vegetable nurseries on time, that often make them suffer from the loss of seedlings.
Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station (TSIPS) established an Intelligent Vegetable Seedling Production and Sales Management System for professional vegetable nurseries. The system makes the management of vegetable nursery systematized and digital, and could be applied on tablets. That will improve the efficiency of vegetable seedling production and marketing.
TSIPS have applied the Intelligent Vegetable Seedling Production and Sales Management System to the cooperative vegetable nurseries for demonstration in 2017 and will gradually increase the number of usage. If you are the manager of vegetable nursery, and are interested in applying this system, please contact the Technical Service Section of TSIPS.
